Understand anything, one good question at a time.
Understanding grows when you can explain an idea, support it with evidence, and consider an alternative. The Tutor offers short explanations, questions, and challenges. Starter lessons remain useful when the service is unavailable, and custom-topic limits are stated openly.

“Institutions matter” is too broad to inspect. A more useful claim names an institution, a mechanism, and a possible outcome. Ask what facts you would need to distinguish that mechanism from another explanation.
Know what the result can tell you
Choose a topic and tell the tutor what you are trying to understand. Explain mode offers a manageable explanation. Ask mode gives a question to test a concept. Challenge mode invites you to examine assumptions or alternatives. A useful response connects the claim, evidence, and next question rather than rewarding length.
Private by default
Your interactive answers stay in browser memory unless you deliberately save or export them. Political answers and personal results are not included in public pages, search metadata, or analytics. Tutor messages are submitted only when you explicitly send them.
